Another home renovation with a difference. This newly built home was given a whole new lease on life. Renovating this home consisted of completely gutting all the interior finishes, removing and replacing all windows and doors. After completion, the house boasted an amazing master bedroom with ensuite and separate his and hers walk in robes, a gallery walkway to the three children’s bedrooms on the newly added extension, a butlers kitchen, a stunning handcrafted hand painted kitchen, 3 study rooms, powder room, formal lounge, formal dining room and a marble foyer entrance, and hand turned staircase. A Masterchef’s kitchen is the centrepiece of this family’s home where Mum can watch the kids in the homework study, TV rumpus room, or at the dinner table or running around the yard. The formal entry foyer was tiled in jet black marble and stark white Kalcutta marble laid in a checker board finish. The tiles were laid with a “nil grout finish” with an epoxy resin top coat for the ultimate shine and presentation. Our favourite finish in the home would have to be the staircase. This was completely custom built with many components that made up the staircase, most mouldings were hand carved or pieced together as many individual pieces. The turned balustrade and handrail again hand carved just made this staircase a piece of artwork rather than a function of getting up and down the levels of a home. Various pieces of timber mouldings were built up to create the image of one single piece of timber and other little finishes that just made this staircase art. For what began as a project home with not a straight wall, this house was renovated into a luxury custom design forever home for this family.
